APR – Artificial Plankton and Rotifers 

Super Betta And Other Very Small Fry Food

I am pleased to offer two 9g vials of APR – Artificial Plankton and Rotifers in snap cap vials for easy use and storage.  Due to my method of packing the vials though, each vial actually contains between 10 and 11 grams, which with this food is significant.  This amount is suitable for those who are into serious Betta breeding is the perfect food for newly free swimming Betta, Rainbow, Cyprinid, Discus, and virtually all fry that need very small food on the order of infusoria and green water for the first few days. What it will do is to drastically cut your losses due to small fry starving out in the first couple days to a week.

This stuff is remarkable. The tiniest pinch on the end of a knife blade will feed surface feeding fry, or make an emulsion in a little tank water in a jar and feed with a dropper. A very little of this goes a very long way! So be careful not to overfeed and do keep your vial in the fridge for a long shelf life.

A.P.R. is a microencapsulated feed that can be used as a replacement feed for rotifers (Brachiounus plicatillis) making great food for feeding larval shrimp and fish. Its high fatty acid - as important as protein for fry -  and protein profile will produce post-larvae of uniform size. Particle size is approximately 50-100 microns. APR is tested for hydrostability. It is highly digestible to provide maximum nutritional efficiency and uptake.

Here is a professional application note showing how amazingly potent this feed is and how far a little will go, underlines are mine:

"Application: to feed 4 million shrimp (Penaus monodon), original stocking density, in a 50-ton water tank, add an average of 60 g/day during the zoel stages, 75 g/day during the mysid stages, and 50 g/day during the PL stages, until PL20 is reached.”

As I said, two 9g vials will be a very good amount for the serious Betta breeder, and larval shrimp are as small as it gets, so it is quite bite size for Bettas and other small fry in the hobby!!!!!!!! If you are a serious breeder or new to breeding, this food will dramatically increase your fry survival rates.

Others please email before bidding, but shipping to Canada is usually very close.  Your shipment will also arrive undamaged as it ships in a proper cardboard box and not an envelope subject to damage in the mails.
