I cannot combine orders as this fills the package, and the next larger package costs about the same to ship.
Starters of microworms and/or vinegar eels can be included with this auction, but you must inform me which you want as they aren't automatically included. Your Paypal 'Notes' is a convenient place to tell me. If you forget to let me know I don't send a replacement.

50+ scuds from my 'indoor' cultures. Scuds start life very small so you are likely to receive more than 50 as I count what I visibly see at a glance. They are cultured under fluorescent lighting and fed primarily fruits & vegetables. The culture resides in my unheated garage, heated only in the winter months, set at a minimum of 60 degrees.

My cultures are free of all invasive organisms visible to the naked eye - no copepods, hydra, etc, however, it may contain a few moina or Russian red daphnia as I also have a few cocultures, though I only use those as a last resort. Moina & daphnia are easily removed if unwanted.

Though daphnia receive a lot of attention, if you are looking for a hardy & productive aquatic organism, scuds are the culture to have. They are nearly indestructible and their cultures are always reliable.

The image is a co-cultured daphnia & scud culture. This strain is easily cocultured with daphnia, and actually makes culturing indoor daphnia much easier. My personal cultures are always cocultured...for many reasons. Scuds 'rip' through so much organic matter(food), and have such bacteria rich waste, that they end up feeding the daphnia; when cocultured I don't bother feeding the daphnia. They also keep a culture clean and free of hair algae. Scuds function just like snails would in a daphnia culture, but are a much more fun to culture than snails. Instead of snails, which will eventually infest all your aquariums & cultures, go with scuds.

GUARANTEE:

If DOA I will send a replacement at no cost. Please don't file any claim as that usually adds additional steps for us both; just let me know and I will send another without a guilt trip.

FYI: During shipping, distance isn't a risk factor, neither is temperature, what will kill the culture is sunlight. It's critical the box not be left in your mailbox or sitting at your door. Have somebody home that is prepared to greet your mail carrier. I will send a tracking number so you know when to expect it.

FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, AND CULTURING VIDEO:

Visit both my Facebook page & YouTube channel links, as well as the link to a scud culturing video. There you will find a variety of content on a number of different aquaria food organisms. No other culturing information comes with package...so watch the video. Follow my channel for upcoming content.
