Auction:

50+ scuds from my indoor cultures. They are cultured under fluorescent lighting, kept no less than 65 degrees, and fed primarily fruits & vegetables.

The image is a co-cultured daphnia & scud culture.

Scuds are my favorite indoor aquatic culture. If you can grow duckweed and slice a cucumber you can culture scuds. They are extremely hardy and highly productive. Daphnia get all the attention, but if I had to choose between daphnia or scuds, I would choose scuds.

A benefit of culturing scuds is they are easy to co culture with daphnia, and in some aspects make culturing daphnia easier. In a daphnia culture they function like snails. They immediately break down fruits & vegetables, and their poop is a bacteria smorgasbord for the daphnia to consume. If you want to include snails in your daphnia culture go with scuds instead.

GUARANTEE:

If DOA I will send a replacement at no cost.

The time a package is vulnerable is when your mail carrier has it. If the package is exposed to the elements it's likely to perish. It's critical the box not be left in your mailbox, so have somebody home that is prepared to greet your mail carrier.
