AUCTION
This is a cycled, closed-cycle, 2 liter culture that will thrive for over one year if only given light. You would use this if you are intending on culturing using fluorescent lighting.

I add the correct nutrients, making an organic rich soup, and cycle with daphnia for a couple weeks under florescent light. There is no need to ever feed the culture again. The light adds energy for algae & bacteria to grow - creating a self sustaining colony of around 50+ daphnia. This is the same as if you placed snails in a soda bottle with a good dose of organic matter - it turns into a closed cycle system that always contains a certain number snails. If you pick out a couple new snails will replace them.

The purpose of receiving daphnia already cycled is to give you time to start your new cultures. This is already a culture that will always contain a certain number of daphnia to pick from. Once you receive your bottle pick/net out as many daphnia as you'd like. Then place the bottle under a light and it will repopulate itself within a couple days. This gives you additional opportunities, in case you fail to start your primary, or have a crash, to establish your primary.

It will keep a colony of around 50 daphnia. That may not sound like many, but daphnia can have over one offspring each day, with those being reproductive in a few days. One dozen daphnia will populate any indoor culture in 2 to 3 weeks. The purpose of this auction is to allow additional opportunities to start your primary - in case you fail to start yours or have a crash.

The culture will be free of other organisms. The daphnia were isolated and started with sterile ingredients.

GUARANTEE
If the colony perishes in the first week I will replace it once at no cost. This guarantee gives you one full week to establish your culture worry free.

I strongly encourage you to read my daphnia culturing article, found on my Facebook page, 'White Worm Man'. There you will find culturing articles(in Notes), videos, and photo albums, on daphnia, scuds, white worms, and freshwater copepods.
