Description

I list several food versions, including daphnia, microfex, copepods, white worms, and springtails. All shipped priority mail:

I have cultured most everything over the years, and the two cultures every serious aquarist should culture are daphnia and white worms. You may find content that discusses these cultures as being a challenge, but that is because serious aquarists value to these two. These two cultures, if you follow a few steps, are the two most productive and easy foods to culture.

Auction
You are bidding on a small USPS priority box filled with:
1) Portion of established WW medium directly from a culture.
2) Water bottle with daphnia & copepods.

White Worm: What you receive is the medium around a feeding worm mass, along with a gob of adults. The medium will be full of eggs for a fast start. Simply put medium into your container and you have an instant culture. This is a strain I have had for many years, and found to be much more tolerant of heat than what believed. I harvest year round in a western state with little drop-off in summer.

Daphnia: There isn't much water in this package - so don't expect a great number of daphnia. It will contain 20-30 adults, which is plenty to start a culture with - you only need 1.

DOA: I will replace once at no charge. Sometimes cultures don't show up as expected due to shipping factors. Keep in mind if you have even one critter survive, the culture is fine; and contains plenty of eggs & juveniles.

Culturing White Worms:
Medium: Peat moss, cocofiber, and soils. Keep very moist. The medium I use is a specific brand of coconut fiber I personally treat/soften.

Food: Bread, cereals, vegetables, potato, and rice. They feed on the same things as a composting worm.

Temperature: Anywhere in the 60's is good. Keep in mind the culture can go above the 60's and the worms will be fine. At night temperatures will get low enough for reproduction. I moderate my culture temperatures simply by moving them close to the floor in the summer, and higher on a shelf in the winter. If you live in a hot enviroment, in the hottest months, you can place a fan blowing across your culture. Also, you can culture them in a cooler, and each day or two add a frozen water bottle.
