Grindal Worm Starter Culture - Enchytraeus buchholzi
The grindal starters are ready to go. You receive a healthy starter of grindals that is actually a full fledged mini-culture in its own right. As you can see in the image of one of the starters below, there are plenty of adult worms as well as eggs and young. The cultures were started in the container they ship in, and grown to the point shown. These starters are mite free.
What you won't get is a half pound of soil with very few worms and assorted mites and fly larvae. I've found success growing these out by using only a shallow layer of sterile coir. a good deal of moisture, and feeding as soon as the previous food is consumed. They are fed with any brand of dry cat food you choose.
Included with your starter are four pipettes for working with and feeding the worms to your fish, as well as a small packet of kibble to feed your starter and the culture you will start from it. I'll also give you a link to the easy to follow instructions for using this starter to grow your own large mother cultures.
First Class Mail shipping for this starter is $2.75 weather permitting. If it is too cold to ship safely First Class, then Priority Mail shipping in a styro insulated box with a heat pack is $7.00. This item ships only to the 48 contiguous United States and Puerto Rico.
