Description

White worms are a fantastic source of live food. They grow to about 1 to 1- � inches. The food value is unparalleled - approximately 70% protein and 15% fat. Great for getting fish into breeding condition or just overall health a growth. White worms are one of the easier live foods to grow. They take about a month to get your culture going but its fun and well worth the wait. From then on you can collect white worms on a regular basis. Most people can use a plastic shoe or sweater box. A large wooden box works if you want to culture LOTS of white worms�. Even an old tank can be used! White worms like a mixture of peat/coco moss and soil (I use organic potting soil from Home Depot). Add water to the soil until it is moist but you don�t want so much water that the soil is over saturated and dripping! Now! Here�s the key to having high nutritional white worms�.. Feed them a good quality high protein FISH FLAKES!!! I feed my worms a high quality flake fish food!! The better the quality of food you feed, the better nutritional value your worms will have�. And thus your fish will reap the benefit of high nutritional white worms! If you feed your worms junk like white bread�. You will have worms that are no better than white bread! Don�t over feed your worms. If the food is not gone in a day or two you know you have fed too much. Remove the old food-before it starts to mold. Mold will cause problems with your worms. White worms multiply fastest at temperatures between 49F and mid-60�sF. I keep mine in plastic shoe boxes on the basement floor�� it�s dark, cool and perfect for white worms! It�s as easy as that� High protein white worms + good moist soil + quality fish flakes = good quality-high protein source of live food for your fish�. With just a little TLC you can have endless supply of great protein food for your fish. Warning: Worm cultures can tolerate very cold temps for a few days, as long as they don't go below 35 degF. Extreme heat (over 80 deg.) will cause more shipping trouble than cold weather. Please order when temperatures are conducive both where you live and where I am. I do not guarantee cultures but it�s rare for a culture to be destroyed�. If there is a problem I work with you to make it right. It's up to you to pick appropriate weather at the time of the order�. Spring time is one of the best times to ship! I send worm shipments out beginning of the week in order to avoid having the cultures sit in the mail over the weekend. Priority Mail is generally faster - especially the further you get from N.Y. Longer than 2-3 days in transit can be problematic, especially if there is a heat wave in your area or mine.
