Hi this is for a culture of Paramecium Aurelia 10 oz. P. aurelia is the smallest paramecium and is great for feeding the smallest fry like betta and threadfin rainbows. This is an establish medium size culture. It will double in about 2 days after adding it to your set up.

To culture, add 2 pinches of bakers yeast into a 2 liter soda bottle and shake well. Then add in the culture and leave it at room temperature. There are a number of ways to harvest and it can be done by removing the top layer of water where you will see a moving cloud of dusk. Then add directly to the fish tank. Or you can use the vinegar eel harvest method where you place it into a long neck bottle and stuff the neck with filter floss. Then slowly add some clean water, not from fish tank, and give it a few hours. They will collect at the top where the clean water is and it can be pipetted to place into fish tank.

The culture you will receive is filtered through micron filter paper to ensure that it is absolutely pure. I have cultured this in sterile deionized water that is reconsituted so that you will recieve a laboratory grade culture.

*As a side note, paramecium can be co-cultured with daphnia magna russian red. I find that it is benificial for both cultures. The paramecium keeps the water from fouling and the magna will in turn eat the paramecium. It's will make the culture very stable. I still always have enough paramecium in this culture to feed my fry. The cultures I sell are pure and are not co-cultures*

Please check out my other auctions to save on shipping. Combine cultures possible and please send me a message to get an accurate quote. Free shipping!! I will ship first class and find that they do well even with cold temperatures. However, if the temperature is freezing, I suggest priority shipping which is $3 more. As always thanks for looking and have a good one!

Oh and please wait until I email you to give you my paypal address. Please also include in the message area which item you are paying for. Thank you very much!
