Description

Auction
With this auction you get established culture, food, and new medium for numerous future cultures.
1. Established grindal, red, and springtail culture the size of a deli container. The photo shows a sample of what you receiveits medium directly from an already established culture. You get a mass of grindal worms, a dozen redworms and unknown number of eggs, and springtails.
2. The remainder of the medium-sized USPS box filled with my special medium. Its my personal blend thats ph adjusted and sodium reduced. Ive spent years playing with different medium mixes and this is the best mix Ive come up with.
3. Food.

Guarantee
Live delivery is guaranteed only if someone is home and receives the package. You will be notified of the ship date, and the package typically shows up two to three days later. If DOA I send replacement at no cost to you.

If you are unsuccessful at starting the culture, within one month, I will replace the worms/springtails if you pay shipping of $6.00. If you order something different Ill include the replacement at no additional cost as you are paying shipping on the new item.

Culturing
Why do I culture these critters together? Neither one of them bothers the other as they are only sharing food. This culture is essentially three cultures taking up the space of one.

Container: Shoe-box containers work great.

Medium: My medium box auction comes with the best medium you can use. If using your own medium try potting soils, WalMart worm bedding, peat moss, etc. Keep moist but not wet.

Food: Quality cat food such as Iams is excellent. Other foods include, rice, beans, soggy breads, cereals, baby food, oatmeal, fish food, baked potato, leftovers, etc.

Temp: Room temperature.

To harvest I half fill a shoebox container with water and raise it on one end. On the high end I put a chunk of medium heavy with worms and/or springtails. The worms wiggle themselves free of their medium and the springtails float to the surface. I suck the worms out with airline tubing, and once I have the worms harvested I net the springtails off the surface.
