Description

Grindal worm

starter culture.

You will receive min. 100 live worms in 0,20 liter sterile coconut peat.

The shipping is FREE WORLDWIDE!

How can you culturing the grindal worms? It is easy!

To prepare your culture simply place the living media into the culture container. Add a small quantity of water to the media and mix in well so all the media is dampened and evenly dispersed. The media should be damp to touch but never waterlogged.

Place your worm culture on the top of the media around the centre of the container and place about a teaspoon of the food source over the worm area. If your living media is damper than is required the food can be added dry, if the media is acceptable then add a little water to the food as this will encourage the worms to eat and therefore multiply faster.

Place the inspection cover over the food and worms and replace the box lid. It is worth inspecting the culture after a couple of days. You should hopefully notice that the food is rapidly being eaten and the worms are re-producing as fast, some of which will be on the inspection cover. This aids removal and feeding your fish.

You may wish to let your culture build up over a few more days/weeks. If so, just add more food and inspect every few days keeping your culture well fed.

Feeding And Prolonging Culture Life

When you need to harvest from your Grindal worm culture we recommend the plastic spoon for hygiene, although any spoon or razor blade may do. Feed small amounts more frequently to your fish as this will assist faster growth of the fish fry and still allow the culture to develop quickly. It also helps to reduce pollution swings in your aquarium.

Providing the culture is kept warm around 22c-25c (75f-86f) or about room temperature, well fed and not too wet or too dry, the culture should last for several months with no major hassles. This should provide you with a daily supply of fresh fish food for your fry.

When the culture starts to decline you should split it into two or three portions and add fresh new living media and start feeding your next generation of Grindal worms.

The prices are in Euros!
