Description

This auction is for a quarter sized colony of dero worms, also known as microfex. This auction includes shipping.

Dero worms are completely aquatic worms about the width of a human hair and grow up to 1.5 inches. They have a habit of living in a colony ball usually surrounding a food source. This auction also includes daphnia magna, which should be cultured in the same container with the deros. They form a symbiotic relationship. The worms eat the food, and release waste which the daphnia eat by filtering out of the water keeping it all clean.

Fry that can take bbs can take these worms by grazing on the colony ball biting pieces of the worms off. Larger fry will take mouthfuls. They will get your fry growing faster than microworm/bbs cocktails usually used until you can get to grindals and larger foods. The daphnia are also a very good live food. Adult daphnia are about the size or a sesame seed, and drop live babies that are about the size of GSL baby brine shrimp. Daphnia in a grow out tank will either get eaten, or will filter the water and drop baby daphnia that will get eaten.

The nice thing about these worms and daphnia is that they are both completely aquatic, which means they will not drown. That means you can drop wads of worms and daphnia in with the fry, and not worry about feeding 2-3 times a day as the fry will just eat until they're all gone. Constant full bellies means maximum growth. It's also nice if you need to get away for a weekend, since you can drop a bigger wad of worms in and let the fry help themselves while you're away.

These worms are pretty easy to culture, and once you get a good feel of a feeding schedule that works for you, they are very low maintenance. I include a pretty decent list of tips on culturing these guys with your purchase, so I won't waste the space here.

Once again, this auction includes shipping. I send out packages on the monday or tuesday after payment has cleared. You'll get an email the evening I ship with the tracking/confirmation number and the instructions on how to culture these. I also include some of the food I use to get you started, or you can use your own. The worms are omnivores, so lots of foods will work.

******Please note: The reserve and the buy it now price is the same. I would prefer that you buy it now, simply because I don't want to jack the price up on these. I always have portions of these, so I don't really want to make people bid against each other for what's going to be food. You can buy/bid with confidence. My customers like me for a reason, and their satisfaction is important to me, as you can see in my feedback. Thanks for looking!
