Fresh 1oz Microworm Culture
This auction is for a fresh 1oz portion of micro worm culture. Ready for harvest as soon as you receive it. An 1oz portion will fully support about one batch fry for two weeks during its peak production times. Shipping takes about 2-10 days; I will delay shipping the worms if nighttime temperatures drop below 35F degrees or if daytime rises above 85F degrees on either end. Live arrival guaranteed. In case of DOA, worms will be replaced free of charge if buyer pays shipping ($1).
Here's some tips and tricks for keeping your microworm cultures in peak productive condition:
* start a new culture every two weeks
* use only uncooked, enriched oatmeal and baker's yeast: this yields the best productivity of worms
* do not cook the oatmeal, but simply wet them with water. cooking denatures proteins and vitamins in the enriched oatmeal
* when an older culture gets watery, sprinkle in some new oatmeal flakes. this will boost and prolong the production of the culture
* unlike popular belief, when harvesting, refrain from using fingers to swipe the edge of the container. This may increase chances for mold growth. Instead, put a layer of good quality paper towel on top of the culture: it acts as a natural filter between the worms, which will crawl on top of the paper towel, and the oatmeal. Then, simply use a brush/swab to harvest the worms that have collected on top of the paper towel.
I've been keeping fishes for a while and have just begun selling online. Feedback is greatly appreciated after you receive the items :) Feel free to email me any questions you have.
