Description

> This sale includes one shrimp/fry guard made specifically for the Eheim 350 surface skimmer as pictured above. (Eheim 350 is not included) I have been looking for a surface skimmer for my planted tank to get rid of the oily film at the surface of the water and was excited to purchase the Eheim 350 surface skimmer. The skimmer works exceptionally well right out of the box and the surface film was gone in a matter of 15 minutes. I noticed a few days later that the flow had slowed down considerably and the oily film was back. I removed the included sponge and found the remains of 2 pygmy corys and at least 5 shrimp. I still wanted to use the skimmer but did not want anymore livestock to become victims. I removed the skimmer immediately and started to make different types of screens etc. To make a long story short after 3- 4 weeks of trial and error I was able to create what you see above. The screen simply slides on to the Eheim 350 surface skimmer float and prevents shrimp, fry and small fish from entering the filter.
