Mopani Root Wood #MAU 020802 Description: Dense Mopane or Mopani Root Wood from Namibia Africa. Item #ZM 020808. 17"X 5" Measurements are taken from the longest and widest points. This Piece weighs 1 lbs 9 oz. This is a beautiful two color African hardwood for aquariums or terrariums. Smooth surface, textured detail, and unique mottled color adds interest and enrichment to habitats. Use with plants to create the "naturalistic" look. One of the hardest and densest woods available; sinks immediately in aquariums and will not rot! The root wood has been sandblasted and leached for 72 hours in running water. It is nice, clean and very gnarled. Each piece is unique. The root wood is called mopani, also known as cow fan wood. This is the root from trees that have had the sand washed away and have dried on the beach. Mopane wood is extremely dense and will sink when placed in water without needing slate weights. We can niw process credit cards over the phone, via e-mail or through Pay Pal.
