Picked in the wilderness away from contamination,not off the ground.Use them for your 'fancy' ornamental shrimp-they love alder cones. Make black water with them,lower pH ,use them to protect fish eggs. These cones give off two or more natural antimicrobial compounds,natural tannins and complex (but mild)organic acids.
