That is worthless if they don't do the job, I'm here to tell you these are what you have been waiting for. A very efficient small sponge filter that is so inexpensive to buy you just toss them out in 6 months to a year and get new. As with any sponge filter just rinse the sponge every couple of weeks and your in business. These are very compact and will fit in almost any container you choose even a large jar (start eating more pickles). Most fry are lost from over crowding, now have as many tanks as needed to keep them safe. A sponge filter uses bubbles of air from an external air pump to draw water through the sponge. As water is drawn out through the lift tube, it is replaced by water entering the sponge. The sponge is a mechanical filter and the surface of all the bubbles or pockets in the sponge provide a bed for the bacteria of a biological filter. The bacteria help to break down harmful waste (ammonia and nitrite). Sponge filters provide both mechanical and biological filtration. You'll need your money for supplies for the fry and shipping supplies, start your savings here. This auction is for 5 complete sponge fry filters with free shipping. If you need air control valves just let me know and I'll include as many as you want, 3 for a dollar.
