Description

BETTAWAN DRIED THAI BANANA LEAF

300 Gram Dried Thai Banana Leaf : 6 " - 9 " strips

We are situated in the middle of Thailand in Phayuha Khiri. We have several
Banana trees that grow around our lake, that have been established there
for many years. The trees are grown for food and when dead, chopped up and thrown into the
lake along with the leaves, they are are totally organic, no chemicals whatsoever are used on
the trees, and they are situated away from the roads, so are also free from exhaust fumes.
Our banana leaves are harvested and treated just as carefully as our indian almond leaves.

You are bidding for 1 Kilo of Dried Thai Banana Leaf ( 6 " - 9 " strips ). Successfully
used in Asia for many years, by professional ornamental fish breeders, the leaves of the
banana plant (Musa sp. var. sapientum) have been used, in the same way as indian almond leaves
(Terminalia Catappa) to prevent and treat diseases such as : Bite injuries, Fin rot, Fungal diseases,
Head and lateral line erosion in cichlids, Ectoparasites and Damage to mucous membranes to name a few.

Thai breeders of Betta Splendens such as Half Moon, Plakat etc., swear by banana leaves
and use these with even greater success than indian almond leaves. The coloration of the fish is greatly
improved and thay have very positive effects on the fishes' readiness to spawn.

After we have collected the Banana Leaf we store them in our dry room for them
to dry out. The leaves are then washed, dried/pressed, boxed and stored. When we get a
order we then un-box the leaves and clean them once again, using a soft brush, making sure
there are no signs of dust, small insects/eggs, seeds, soil, mould or moisture. We then bag the
leaves in clear plastic bags and box them ready for shipping. We use sturdy boxes provided by
the thai post office...these boxes cannot be sealed. They have a lip that slots into a flap on the
side of the box. String is then tied around the box to stop the box from opening in transit. We
state on the box and the package the contents. (eg. Aquatic Goods : 100 Gram Dried Banana Leaf).
Customs seem to be happy with this way of posting as all customs
have to do is untie the string and check the contents. If ok they retie the string and send the parcel
to customer.

We have supplied the Banana leaf to customers in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe and Australia.

Price includes postage via airmail from Thailand to the address of your choice.
Upon confirmation of payment through PayPal, the leaves will be dispatched via
airmail usually taking 10 - 14 working days. We will also send via email, an
invoice for payment, 2 pictures of the leaves boxed and unboxed and a copy of the
post office receipt to confirm postage.

Testimony : Your leaves helped me finish #4 on the ISA's top 10 Betta Breeders
list last season (2008-2009) and I've already got 3 spawns of young winner
coming along this season. I'm in the #2 spot so far this year. Always proud to
support quality products and quality service. ( J.R. (Bob) Baker aka Phish Phreek....
