Description

50Indian Almond Leaves - Betta Spawning

Fifty Mixed Size Highest Quality Organic Indian Almond Leaves

Terminalia catappa - Ketapang

Already Here And Delivered In A Few Days

Free First Class Mail Shipping

The Fishguy has been importing Indian Almond leaves from one of the best known and most reliable organic providers in Asia.  I have come into several kilos of the mixed size leaves pictured below.  While I have offered the cosmetically perfect, large Grade A leaves, the leaves pictured below are from the very same trees and supplier, but are cosmetically imperfect, meaning they have tears or small holes in the leaves.  In truth, my fish have never noticed.  Other than that, they are identical in every respect to the perfect Grade A's with the only difference being that these cost quite a bit less and are already here!!!

These are in fact the leaves that I use personally in my fish room, and I can attest to the fact that my bettas are completely unable to differentiate a leaf with an imperfection from a perfectly shaped leaf!

With my leaves you have the advantage of getting Asia's best quality leaves in a few days instead of a couple weeks, and there are no worries with potential customs or shipping mishaps.

While these last, you are getting a nice box of fifty plus leaves such as those shown above for one of the best prices around.  I say box because even though it costs more on this end to ship them that way, they are shipped in one to prevent crushing in the mail.

Used by most professional breeders of Asian black water fish, these leaves have been naturally sun and shade dried.  They have never been exposed to herbicides and have also never been washed or treated with anything other than pure clear water.  These leaves are all organic and they have not been treated with a chemical wash before shipping.  Half the time the poison is in the cure!

If you are looking you are probably already aware of the properties of these leaves, but I'll enumerate for those who may need more info.

  • They are a natural aid to spawning for Bettas and apparently all blackwater fish.  Read that to be organic Viagra for these species.

  • They release a natural brown dye that contains both humic and tannic acids having strong antibacterial and antifungal properties that will help keep the eggs from falling prey to fungus.

  • Once your fish have spawned, these natural substances help heal spawning wounds and protect the fry from opportunistic infections.

I use one or two small/medium or one large leaf in a ten gallon spawning tank which has a noticeable effect on both water quality and spawning activity.  As the leaf ages and breaks down it will aid in the growth of protozoans for the fry to feed on.  After a couple spawnings your spawning tank will be a micro eco-system of your fishes natural environment.  Complete with fry food at hand.

They are also extremely beneficial for invertebrates such as Asian shrimp - and most shrimp in the hobby are - who also come from this environment.  I have also had great results reported by killi breeders who use them as an anti-fungal when water incubating eggs.

I stand on my reputation here on AquaBid and am pleased to offer this addition to my breeding/fry rearing supply line.

Thanks for looking and Take Care!

Paul P.
