Steve's (sparl) about me page

A fellow hobbyist - not a business

Please Read Before Bidding

Hi, thanks for checking out my auction. So, just a little about me, Im a hobbyist, not a business or store. I have a small fish room in my basement and keep fish and inverts for the sheer enjoyment of watching the cycle of life go through its paces. I take great care to keep my fish in a healthy tank, all of which are planted. I do water changes religiously and feed my fish the best food I can obtain. Because I take good care of my animals, they often reward me with young; thats where you come in.

After I BAP my fish to my local fish club, give some to friends to ensure a single population crash wont be the end of the species locally, I place the rest that need homes here on Aquabid as well as a few forums I frequent. Unless I have a population explosion, Im usually in no rush to move my fry, so I price them at what I consider a fair amount based on what I see here on Aquabid and based on the quality the animal.

I only keep and breed a handful of fish and inverts because I like them and think theyre cool to watch and work with. So Ill only have a handful of animals for sale at any given time.
My CPOs get a little aggressive towards each other, so you may have a claw missing or some small blemish, but rest assured they will grow back upon molt.

I am a Wild Type Betta enthusiast. I keep and breed several different wild Betta species such as: Betta albimarginata, Betta brownorum. Betta dimidiata, and Betta simplex

If you decide to buy some of my animals, thank you. I hope you give them a great home and they do well for you. When I net your animals, it will be the best looking ones I can find and net at the time from my tank. I dont have a mine and their tank; theyre all in there together. I wont send you an animal that has any signs of illness of deformities.

Shipping Ill try to ship as quickly as a can. I often come home from work at lunch and carefully bag your fish (I double breather bag them, and use styro lined boxes or styro containers, whichever I have around). I will not ship near weekends or holidays if theres a chance the animals will sit around the post office. I do this because I care about the animals and want you to get them alive and well. That being said, sometimes life happens and it delays shipping. If that happens I will communicate with you as soon as I can, which is almost always that same day.

USPS Priority shipping has a no live arrival guarantee. Again, Ill pack them as best I can and rarely experience any problems.

USPS Express comes with live arrival guarantee. As above, Ill pack them as best I can to avoid any issues. You must be there to accept the shipment on the first attempt. If you have a DoA, I need a clear picture of the dead animal now, not later. I will refund your $ (animals only, not shipping) or reship with animals replaced free and you would be required to pay shipping.

Theres a risk involved in shipping live animals. Please understand that this can be minimized by packing them securely with the proper materials, however some risk remains, hence my policies above. Anyone that tells you different is trying to get one past you.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me via the auction.

Have a great day
