So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish...

Wh@tevR
I've been in and out of the fish hobby for several years. I used to have 30+ freshwater community fish tanks, all planted. I have kept and bred several species of killifish, coryadoras, plecos, danios, tetras, gobies, syndontis, shrimp, snails, guppies, pea purffers and endlers. I love browsing and shopping the auctions because of the wide variety of really beautiful specimen plants and livestock. Thanks, AB sellers!

When I owned a house, I kept loads of tanks because I could. Now that I'm renting, I've space and leasing issues with that amount of gear, so it's made me really consider the livestock I want since I have smaller limits. Since I only have room for one large tank, I have been extremely careful in choosing my plants and livestock I want so much more than I can realistically accommodate. It's a careful and considered process of deciding on the decor, plants, fish and invertebrates; I couldn't have made the tough choices without a lot of research (again) and remembering my prior experiences with several species I had previously cared for. I still tweak my tanks a bit with plants and livestock every few more months and of course, I can never live with just one tank!
