Information about me... Hi... (PLEASE SEE MY NEW HEALTH LIMITATIONS ADDED BELOW) I'm Jim O'Mara: My grandmother gave me my first 5 gallon aquarium more than 57 years ago when I was only 5 years old. During most of those many years I have been successful in breeding an assortment of tropical fish. My favorites have been Angel Fish, various Cory Catfish and Barbs. Since having a stroke a few years ago, I have limited my attention and tank space to raising Angel Fish. Originally, I purchased top quality bloodlines from North Star Angels to assure quality babies. I use very strict culling standards in order to maintain all fast growing, healthy and colorful Angels. Many in my breeder angels have at least 25% wild bloodlines. Most of my young Angels are proudly sold to local pet shops. However, I select the top quality fish for my future breeders� Naturally, as any self-respecting fish hobbyist/breeder, I keep more than I need. That�s where you and Aqua Bid come in. Our WYSIWYG groups are exactly that. What You See Is What You Get. We select the fish for these groups and photograph the actual fish up for auction in our �photo tank�. After the fish are photographed, each grouping is then placed into a separate 10 gallon holding tank where they are held until the auction closes. These holding tanks also allow us to prepare these fish for shipment upon the close of the auction. My newly hatched free swimming babies start out with live brine shrimp to feast on and eventually work themselves up to a more varied diet. My adult fish are fed three varieties of flake food, dehydrated bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp. I HAVE SOME NEW HEALTH LIMITATIONS:
In the months of August / early September, 2008 I was hospitalized following kidney failure. I'm fortunate to be alive... These new health issues well affect the continuation of me raising fish. For this reason I will be selling all my future breeder fish. These are all the cream of the crop, personally selected fish that I have raised from top quality blood lines.
