About me
I have been in the hobby since the year 2000. What got me started in the hobby was when I was very young around 3-4 years old, my mom use to buy fish and could never keep them alive. Those memories staid in my head so vividly, and kept me wondering what my mom was doing wrong. Later on when I was older I started keeping my own fish. I set up my very first 10 gallon tank when I was around 24, and like every hobbyist killed many fish. I then understood why my moms fish where dying. I started studying/researching how to keep them alive. I purchased books and read as much as I could to educate myself about freshwater fish. One of my favorite books is

Freshwater fish in an aquarium is an ongoing hobby. One does not just set everything up and that's it. There is continuous maintenance one that is fun and very educational at the same time. You also have the other hobbyist that share their positive and negative learning experiences that come to be of help. It is very rewarding to see the changes of all the wonderful colors, shapes and sizes of your fish in the awesome aquarium you have set up on your own.
