I am a collector and breeder of tropical fish, specializing in Corydoradine catfish, of which I have spawned 74 species in the past 10 years. I currently maintain 65 species of Corys in 115 tanks. October will mark the beginning my 54th year in the hobby.

Laurel Lake Guppy Hatchery was awarded a NJ State Dept. of Agriculture - Aquaculture License (No. 14) in 2004. We are the only entity in the state that have been granted this license for the express purpose of raising ornamental tropical fish, as opposed to food fish. At that time, we were operating on a 10 acre farm in beautiful Maurice River Township, NJ. A 320 tank commercial breeding operation was constructed with direct assistance from the Aquaculture Technology Program at Cumberland County College. Additionally, in 2004, the hatchery was granted a trademark for the term Guppyman Guppies�.

Most of the fish I list have been born and raised in my fish room. I do occasionally import select, highly desirable and rarely seen species of Cory. These fish are QT'd until I personally inspect them for sale or auction. Additionally, I trade extensively with other breeders in a continuing effort to bring you the finest, healthiest, most genetically vigorous specimens available in the hobby, today. After rearing these, I pull select specimens to condition and establish as future spawning groups. The remainder are either auctioned, sold off-auction, or used to trade with other breeders.

I maintain a diverse and unique selection of hard-to-find Cory cats and other select species of fish. We offer our fish at all age groups and configurations including juveniles, unsexed young adults, well-conditioned spawning groups and on rare occasion, proven spawning groups and show-quality specimens.

I have spent the past year shutting down the commercial operation

Over the past year I managed to reduce the size of the fish room by almost 100 tanks. The Corys have been reduced in numbers, dramatically, but now I will start moving out extras, as well as many species that I have decided to no longer keep.

OUR GUARANTEE: It is important to do your research before bidding on an auction. If you have questions about compatability or requirements, feel free to ask. I ship you healthy, high-quality, meticulously cared for specimens. All fish are purged for 24 hours and personally inspected by me before being bagged. I would never, under any circumstances ship you a fish that I am not proud of, or that I would not be happy to receive if I were the auction winner. Understand that we have no way of knowing your fish keeping skills, regimen or the conditions of your water or aquaria. We ship healthy, vigorous stock and supply you with all of our water parameters and suggested acclimation procedures, before we ship your fish. Surely you can understand that once they reach you in good health we cannot take any responsibility for what transpires after being transferred into your tanks.

We take great pride in our guppies, Corys, our business ethics and our reputation. Your complete satisfaction is my utmost concern. If dealt with in a mature, polite, respectful fashion I will work as hard as possible to assist you before and long after your purchase. NEW SHIPPING INFO AS OF August 30, 2012

1. Because of the constant hassles that I have to endure from my local P.O., I will not be able to ship by USPS Express Mail. USPS Priority Mail is offered, without a live-delivery guarantee. USPS Priority Mail service has been spotty, of late and if you live west of the Mississippi, I would strongly advise you NOT to utilize this service..

2. I would prefer to ship fish on YOUR Fedex or UPS account number, which you can obtain with a 5 minute phone call to either of those carriers. By using your own account number, it precludes the necessity of of me having to guestimate your shipping charges, reduces the overall cost of shipping your box and affords you the opportunity to delay payment for the shipping, until you receive the bill from the carrier.

3. Please do not ask me to ship fish in what anyone would deem unacceptable temps for shipping. No one understands, better than I, the gleeful anticipation that we experience when acquiring new fish. Many of the fish I ship are available in limited quantities and you have probably paid top-dollar to acquire them. Be smart.

4. You are responsible for tracking the weather and notifying us immediately if you need your shipment delayed. Please notify us by 11 PM on the evening prior to your scheduled ship date.

5. Live Delivery Guarantee available on Next Day shipping only. There will be absolutely no deviation from this policy, whatsoever.

6. All Waiver of Signature requests render any live delivery guarantee null and void.

7. DOA's: We have an excellent shipping success rate. That being said, things do happen. Should you receive any DOA's, a digipic of the fish in the unopened bag must be supplied within 2 hours of the actual shipment arrival as stated by the carrier. Please remove the outer bag before shooting the pic. On fish costing over $20 per specimen, the DOA's must be returned to me, in a baggie with some table salt, via regular mail in order obtain replacement fish or a refund. You can blame that requirement on the few people who have tried to scam me. Yes, unfortunately, oftentimes in life, we must suffer due to the sins of others. I work too hard and spend too much money raising my fish, to be scammed out of my money. Replacement or refund will be issued, based upon current availability of the fish I shipped you.

8. Shipping is NOT refundable. If you received extras, or freebies of any kind, they are not guaranteed in case of any loss.

Remember - UPS drives your box around in a big, brown oven - all day.
The standard box I use for shipping is 13 inches long X 9 inches wide X 7 inches high. Average weight is 4 pounds.
