Pictures are Worth a Thousand Words!!
As you can see from the slideshow on this page, our household is full of critters...two-legged, four-legged, six-legged, and finned! Not all of our pets like to have their picture taken. Our menagerie includes a love bird, two dogs, a cat, a newt, three hermit crabs, and lots of freshwater fish. Our two young children, Zachary 6, and Lydia 3, actively care for their buddies, and they particularly enjoy feeding our foot-long knife fish. He seems to know when a child is feeding him, as he'll gingerly take the bloodworms from their fingers. But when adult fingers are involved, he loves to give a little 'love zap' with his tail! Our aquaria are all freshwater community tanks. My favorite is the Rainbowfish tank, which is fully planted and absolutely gorgeous. We keep one adult angelfish in that tank, who happily controls the result of any cross-breed spawning. Thanks to all the great deals and tips from Aquabid, we've got a wonderful selection of healthy fish and flourishing plants! On another note, I should probably say something about the tiny baby in my slideshow. Our son was born four full months prematurely, weighing in at only 1 pound six ounces. The blue bear in the photo with him is a Beanie baby! It was a long haul, but he is now six years old, healthy and happy. I credit the house full of 'critter love' for helping him grow through his most tender years. Thank you for looking and have a nice day!
