bioAquatiX Aponogeton Capuronii   Aponogeton Ulvaceus is a beautiful bulb species from Madagascar. The leaves are a delicate green and translucent with undulated margin. A single root can produce more than 30 leaves, 30-60 cm long. This plant is sometimes best kept as a solitary plant in large aquariums (the plant becomes up to 40 cm wide). It is relatively tolerant, and thrives in both soft and hard water, particularly if CO2 is added. There are many varieties of Aponogeton, some of which need a dormant period regenerate and produce new leaves. Aponogeton Ulvaceus will tolerate most water conditions, but will thrive in slightly alkaline water conditions and temperatures around 72 °F (22 °C). Additional CO2 will help produces more luxuriant growth. It likes a bright position but will grow in partial shade. In an aquarium it makes a very good central show plant.
