bioAquatiX Water Sprite Lace   Water Sprite Lace (Ceratopteris thalictroides) this aquatic plant commonly known as the Indian Fern, is light green in color, grows long and tall with its feather like branches. When planted it look good as a mid-ground plant in a planted aquarium. This plant can also be used as a floating plant; since it does not have well developed roots it is able to retrieve all its nutrients from its leaves. Those delicate lacy leaves create lots of surface area from shrimps and young fry to hide in. This species will propagate is by side shoots and rhizome division. Just separate the new plant and re-plant. All plants are sensitive to copper; the Water Sprite is no exception. Be aware about the type of medication you are introducing to the aquarium, especially chemicals to control snails infestation, those are usually copper based and should not be added to a planted aquarium. This plant will benefits from the additions of CO2 and fertilizers.
