Description

Well, I've been thinnning the overgrowth of plants in my fry tanks again! Every year the plants in my fry tanks grow like crazy and by summer they've reached a critical mass. So I'm offering it here to other fellow fish keepers and breeders for their own projects. I'm not trying to make a living off this stuff, so you'll find my portions are much bigger than the unrooted cuttings offered by a lot of other sellers. I just don't want to throw away all these perfectly healthy plants when I know you folks would appreciate them. These are growing faster than I can get them to other folks so I just keep adding more plants to the auction!

So, this auction is for a nice bunch of 4-8" rooted Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides) also known as Indian Fern. This is one of those great water-purifying plants that uptake tones of nitrogen from fish waste and release lots of oxygen back into the water! These are a great lush plant, and they grow quickly and to the size of your tank. Once one stem reaches the surface the fronds will spread out a bit and the base will grow a new stem. They're lots of fun to watcvh grow because their leaves uncurl as the grow. It's defintely one of the easiest plants to grow and will do well in nearly any lighting It's also great for fry because as it spreads mutiple fronds out ir become a great maze for them to hide in. This is a great plant I don't see offered at our local fsh stores very often. The photo above one of the mother plants these were grown from. The photos below are closeup from the back of the tank to just how dense this will grow if you plant them close together. All these plants are snail free as well!

Shipping is $2.99 and includes a tracking number. The plants will be moistened with butcher paper but without standing water so they may be a bit flat at first but will spread back out in just a day or so once they're immersed again. I ship on Mondays and Tuesdays, or Wednesdays if you're on the west coast, so that I can be sure they arrive without spending a weekend in transit.
