Description

FREE EXTRA MYSTERY PLANT INCLUDED ON EVERY ORDER. I HAVE MANY OTHER PLANTS FOR SALE PLEASE CLICK HERE
This auction is for an USPS priority small flat rate box full of jungle vals. The price you pay includes the shipping costs of $7.80 that these boxes cost to ship so it is a pretty good deal. I will fit as many jungles inside as it is safely possible for the plants so they arrive in the best condition possible. If you don't know how big these boxes are I have a picture in here that shows the box and the measures. It will fit approximately 25-50 plants depending on the how big the plants are. This is a good option if you are trying to create a nice curtain on the back or your tank or a dense forest on corners.

Jungle val description
Vallisneria gigantea (americana) is a tall grass like plant originating from Asia. The leaves are usually a vibrant green colour, but can vary from yellowish to dark green depending on the growing conditions the plant is kept under. It can grow up to 12" per week, so it needs a lot of nutrients to support such a drastic growth rate, and Jungle Val. relies heavily on macronutrients, and they are heavy root feeders. This means that water column fertilizers as well as a nutrient rich substrate are quite desirable for healthy growth but not absolutely necessary. While CO2 will aid in the growth of this plant, it is not necessary- especially in a hard water situation. This plant has the ability to utilize bicarbonates as a carbon source, making it thrive in hard water without CO2 injection.

Care must be taken when introducing this plant. It can be a very fragile plant, so when planting it make sure you are gentle with it and do not pinch or snap any leaves. Also, when planting, make sure the roots are planted downwards like they would grow, otherwise they may rot and the plant will need to spend a lot of energy to regrow its root system. A special note: Seachem's (C) Excel fertilizer should not be used with this plant when first introduced. Most Jungle Val.s tend to melt and shed leaves when first introduced to a tank, but excel will make this process permanent and the leaves will just continuously die and fall off. If you desire to dose excel, wait until the plant has well established itself, and then start introducing it very gradually so it can build up a resistance to it and it may not die off this way.

Due to its rapid growth, Val. gigantea (americana) needs regular trimming to keep it from shading out the plants underneath them. The leaves of this val. species can get well over 4' long if let to grow out in several years if not pruning, and a full grown plant's leaves can get to 5cm wide. These leaves run across the water's surface when tall enough, completely shading out other plants. Keep our scissors handy .

Propagation of this plant is very simple. It reproduces by sending out runners along the substrate, and they grow quite quickly, so once the runners have reach a size where they can survive on their own they should be cut from the mother plant, as it will hinder growth of both plants.

Giant val. is best suited for the background of tanks, kept in large groups for best effect. They have very ribbon-like leaves that will sway and bend easily in the current, giving a very 'flowy' look to the background. A large group of this plant in one area gives a good hiding place for anything that seeks it; newborn fry, moulting/newly moulted shrimp, nocturnal species, shy or bullied fish.

Here I show some examples of this plant in two tanks. These are only a few of the many ways you can plant them and create a nice setup.

SHIPPING:Shipping is free. We only ship to the US including Puerto Rico. No international shipping. We ship only USPS priority mail that takes usually 2-3 days to deliver. Please remember that the date ebay shows you is just an estimate of arrival and not the real thing. You will get a tracking number it is important you check this tracking number 2-3 times each day to see when the box will arrive to your home. Please make sure you are at home the day of the arrival or arrange for some one to be there to receive the plants and that knows how to properly care for the plants. The less time they spend on the box the better. I ship Monday to Tuesday in order to avoid the weekend. If you buy on Tuesday evening or latter than that your plants will be ship next Monday. Please take into account usps Holidays when ordering.

PAYMENT: We only accept paypal as a form of payment.

YOUR ADDRESS:Before buying any plants you must make sure that your phisical address on your paypal account is correct. Sometimes people move and they dont change the address. If you need your plants ship to a friend or family member please leave a note when you check out telling me the full name and address. Also make sure the person knows the tracking number of the order.

RETURNS: You can return plants in the first 14 days. Please do not return any item without contacting me first for instructions. The cost of shipping to returns items is the responsibility of the buyer and must use priority mail.

DEAD ON ARRIVAL OR DAMAGED PLANTS OR BOXES:Plants tend to suffer when on shipping. It is normal for them to lose some leaves, get a lighter or darker color or even to smell funny and look mushy. Remember that the plants have spent 3 days inside a box with no water sunlight or proper air. They will recover their normal color and grow once on your tank. IF YOU RECEIVE EXTREMELY DAMAGED PLANTS, FROZEN PLANTS OR A BOX THAT HAS BEEN BROKEN OR DAMAGE IN ANY WAY PLEASE TAKE PICTURES. The only way to prove that your plants arrived dead is taking a picture and sending the picture to us. There is an option on ebay messages to upload pictures. After the delivery of the box you have 72 hours to send a picture of the dead plants. I will refund or replace the damaged plants.

PROBLEMS AND QUESTIONS: If you encounter any problem or questions please send me an email using the ebay email system. DO NOT OPEN A CASE. A case is something you should open when the buyer and the seller do not understand each other. If you are having and problem send me a message and I will fix it.

FEEDBACK AND RATINGS: I try to do my best. If you encounter any problems always contact me before deciding to leave negative or neutral feedback. I can solve any problem to the buyers satisfaction but you should contact and let me know what is happening.
