Threadfin Rainbow Iriatherina werneri
The Threadfin Rainbow is a small rainbow species, growing only 2"; this makes them suitable for much smaller aquaria than their larger counterparts. With iridescent silver bodies, males have long threads extending from their dorsal and anal fins. Rainbows are known for their characteristic large eyes, black or silver band that runs through the middle scale rows, deeply forked mouth, and two dorsal fins. This peaceful Rainbowfish is a schooling fish that does best in a well planted aquarium. They prefer neutral to slightly acidic water, and will exhibit their best colors against a dark colored substrate.
