Description

2 pairs of Gold Endler's livebearers Poecilia wingei - (2 male, 2 female)

Gold Endlers are a leucistic version of the Black Bar endlers - lacking the Black pigment. This leaves the body with only a slight yellow pigment and the surface and underlying metallic sheens give it a warm gold appearance. In males the other colors remain, making for a vibrant fish with the reds, greens, and blues. These fish pop against a dark background or when viewed from above, similar to gold rice fish. They would make fantastic fish in an indoor pond. The fish in the photos are close relatives of the ones that will be shipped and should be similar in appearance to what you will receive.

Endler's Livebearers Poecilia wingei are a type of guppy native to Venezuela. They are similar to the domestic guppy ( Poecilia reticulata) in care and will readily breed with them. Unlike domestic guppies they do not tend to eat their fry, and the males tend to be smaller and more active. My endlers are P/K class as I do not have any proof of their purity - but otherwise they look and act like endlers should.

My Guppy room is maintained at 70-80 deg F. The tanks have no heaters, and the fish do fine at fish room temperatures as long as the room stays warm (if it gets cold you may need a heater). I use tap water treated to reduce alkalinity to a Hardness of 12-20 dH, alkalinity of 10-15 dKh, and a pH of 7.4 to 7.8. The TDS ranges from 600ppm to 950ppm indicating that some salt is present naturaly.

All livestock has been bred and raised in my fish room. No fresh imports, and none of the "bonus" pests and diseases that come with fresh imports.
