IMPORTANT: I ship to the address provided in your payment. If paying by paypal, please, please make sure that shipping address is correct before clicking the send button. Shipping days get hectic, and it's easy to miss requests to ship elsewhere. Thanks...

Auction is for 5 unsexed baby Belonesox, each about an inch long. Title picture is of female from preceding generation (the "mother" of your fish); babies still have the bold black stripe. Sorry, I can't predict or guarantee the sex ratio.

These guys get about 4" on males and 6" on females, and really want to eat only live fish or shrimp, though some hobbyists have some success training them to eat frozen foods. I feed the adults rosy red minnows and other small fish; the babies are currently consuming live adult brine shrimp. If you are not willing to commit to live foods, these may not be the best fish for you. These are ambush predators that love to lurk in heavily planted tanks waiting for lunch to swim by. The are somewhat flighty and good jumpers; keep 'em covered. They are also cannibalistic, so you may need to separate some if they grow at different rates. Females have been know to eat or just beat the males if not kept well fed.

Parameters: I don't use heaters, so tanks are in the low 70s in winter and high 70s in summer. Our water is moderately hard (140mg/l) with a pH of 7.5, and I add one tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons. I've never checked it myself, but a couple of buyers report my water arrives with a TDS of 900-1000 ppm.

Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Fish usually ship the Saturday, Monday; or Tuesday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $20.00 per shipment for Priority Mail, or $48 for Express. Multiple fish purchases can be shipped together or eggs can ship with fish for no additional shipping charge.

Payment: please pay by money order or paypal within 3 days of purchase. The email address that Aquabid provides in the winning bidder notice is my paypal address, so if you know your total, feel free to pay before contacting me. Otherwise, I usually send out an email within a day of auction end. If you prefer to pay by money order, the Aquabid address is again correct; please let me know when money order is in the mail. I am often looking to clear tanks to make room for the next hatch, so prompt payment is always appreciated.

Replacement: In the unlikely event that fish perish during shipping, I will either replace or refund the price of the fish, provided that you let me know of the loss within two hours of the time tracking shows delivery. The most dangerous part of their trip is often the time spent sitting in the mailbox or on the porch. If you unable to be home for mail delivery, please consider having the parcel held at your local post office for you to pick up. Shipping charges are not refundable.
