For your consideration are at least 20 eggs of Scriptaphyosemion cauveti 'Kindia' - the Kindia Killifish. This is a gorgeous West African non-annual killifish from Kinda, Guinea, that for some reason is still relatively uncommon in the hobby. Unlike many West African killies, these do not require very cool, or soft, acidic water, or constant live food. I've been breeding them just fine in moderately hard, alkaline water, at about 78F. They'll also eat just about anything, though frozen bloodworms really get them spawning. Fry are nice and large, and will take live baby brine shrimp immediately upon becoming free-swimming. Occasionally, fry hatch prematurely, and take several days to absorb their yolk-sac, in which case do not feed them until they start to swim around. The only challenge is keeping the eggs from being attacked by fungus: the addition of methylene-blue and frequent water changes to the hatching container will help with this. I've been picking eggs and raising them separately, but the breeder from whom I got mine raises them colony-style, and said that the parents will not eat their fry. They are somewhat timid, but will learn to come out during feeding time, if you're patient and sit still. Small schooling species as dithers in the tank will make them feel more comfortable. Their only other down-side is that they are rather slow-growing, and probably need to be over a year old to lay fertile eggs. They've been reliably spawning for the past couple months, so I plan to pick eggs for the remainder of the week and then ship on Monday, to get you the freshest eggs possible. However, fish do as they please, and occasionally they'll stop laying for a couple days. If this happens, I'll be sure to contact you and apprise you of the situation, and either offer a refund, or delay shipping until I accumulate at least 20 eggs.
