Auction is for one nice young pair of the beautiful African Annual killifish Fundulopanchax gardneri Uke 2008. They are about 1" long as of this writing, just beginning to color up. Additional pairs available.

Pictured is an adult male of this strain from a previous generation. Females, as usual, have very little coloration or markings. Males are very beautiful, with plenty of color, spots and stripes. The Uke 2008 strain has blue edges on the tail, which isn't very common these days. Fry accept newly hatched brine shrimp and powdered fry food. Adults eat most fish foods appropriate for their size, but thrive on frozen and live foods. Agile jumpers' keep 'em covered.

Parameters: I don't use heaters, so tanks are in the low 70s in winter and high 70s in summer. Our water is moderately hard (140mg/l) with a pH of 7.5, and I add one tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons. I've never checked it myself, but a couple of buyers report my water arrives with a TDS of 900-1000 ppm.

Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Fish usually ship the Saturday, Monday; or Tuesday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $20.00 per shipment for Priority Mail. Best Option: Express Mail with insulation and heat pack usually starts at about $55: please email me your ZIP code, and the number of types you intend to purchase. Multiple fish purchases can be shipped together or eggs can ship with fish for no additional shipping charge.

Payment: please pay by money order or paypal within 3 days of purchase. The email address that Aquabid provides in the winning bidder notice is my paypal address, so if you know your total, feel free to pay before contacting me. Otherwise, I usually send out an email within a day of auction end. If you prefer to pay by money order, the Aquabid address is again correct; please let me know when money order is in the mail. I am often looking to clear tanks to make room for the next hatch, so prompt payment is always appreciated.

Replacement: In the unlikely event that fish perish during shipping, I will either replace or refund the price of the fish, provided that you let me know of the loss within two hours of the time tracking shows delivery. The most dangerous part of their trip is often the time spent sitting in the mailbox or on the porch. If you unable to be home for mail delivery, please consider having the parcel held at your local post office for you to pick up. Shipping charges are not refundable.
