THREE PAIRS (3 male + 3 female) of Aphanius farsicus Lake Maharlu. They are about 1 inch long, coloring up nicely, and beginning to exhibit breeding behavior. A very pretty strain of these feisty little killies that we don't see often enough. Females, as usual, have very little coloration or markings.

Aphanius prefer harder water, so they do well in tanks where a lot of other killies languish. They are not particularly temperature sensitive; some folks keep them outdoors in moderate climates. They definitely enjoy and look great in a planted environment with bright light or sunshine.

Parameters: I don't use heaters, so tanks are in the low 70s in winter and high 70s in summer. Our water is moderately hard (140mg/l) with a pH of 7.5, and I add one tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons. I've never checked it myself, but a couple of buyers report my water arrives with a TDS of 900-1000 ppm.

Shipping: I ship to US only; shipping may need to be coordinated around weather and postal holidays. Fish usually ship the Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday after payment clears to reduce risk of spending a weekend parked outside some postal sorting station. Please include $17.00 per box for Priority Mail or $45 per box for Express Mail. Multiple fish or egg purchases can be shipped together for no additional shipping charge.

Payment: please pay by money order or paypal within 3 days of purchase. The email address that Aquabid provides in the winning bidder notice is my paypal address, so if you know your total, feel free to pay before contacting me. Otherwise, I usually send out an email within a day of auction end. If you prefer to pay by money order, the Aquabid address is again correct; please let me know when money order is in the mail. I am often looking to clear tanks to make room for the next hatch, so prompt payment is always appreciated.

Replacement: In the unlikely event that fish perish during shipping, I will either replace or refund the price of the fish, provided that you let me know of the loss within two hours of the time tracking shows delivery. The most dangerous part of their trip is often the time spent sitting in the mailbox or on the porch. If you unable to be home for mail delivery, please consider having the parcel held at your local post office for you to pick up. Shipping charges are not refundable.
