Collected from Bayou St. John, a slightly brackish canal and watershed in the city of New Orleans, LA. They're common and especially active at night. Individuals will have been tanked for at least 48 hrs prior to shipping. I ship Mondays or Tuesdays following the order. Shipping is included in the cost of the crabs. I send a number of them because it is not uncommon for one or more to die en route. That being said, I do all that I can to prevent that from happening. Keep the crabs in the water that they are shipped in and add small amounts of new water, slightly brackish. You should have some PH strips handy. The PH of the Bayou is pretty volatile and the crabs can handle shifts which is why they can sometimes live in water that is practically fresh for short periods. I ship with a cold pack and I bag each crab individually with mostly air in the bag and a small amount of vegetation.
