These are tank raised and bred Neocaridina Blue Velvet Shrimp. Contrary to what many believe, these shrimp were bred out of a different Neo species than cherry shrimp, however, any two neocaridina shrimp will breed resulting in a slow reversion to wild color. I regularly cull my colony to uphold the blue coloration. These shrimp aren't as easy to care for as generic cherry shrimp, but of the blue color morphs, they are by far the easiest. They prefer tropical temperatures and moderately hard water. The big thing to successfully caring for and even breeding these shrimps is water stability. When received I highly advise a long and thorough drip acclimation in order to avoid any shock to the shrimp. If the shrimp arrive DOA, I will either refund you or replace the lost shrimp: given documentation and explanation of the problem before 2 hours has passed after the package is delivered. These are high Grade blue velvets, I only keep the highest quality blue in my breeding colony. The tank parameters are Ph: 7.2+- Ammonia: 0 (always must be 0) nitrite: 0 (same as ammonia) Nitrate: 0 (<2.5 always) TDS: 250-300 They aren't to picky with GH and KH so long as they are properly acclimated and it remains stable. Though both must be high enough to allow for proper molting and health. If you're PH is in the 7's you're likely to be fine. A high calcium food source will deal with most of the needs for molting and such. Please contact me if you wish to purchase a different number of shrimp. The picture quality is rather grainy, I do apologize.
