Rosy Barb Pethia conchonius
Rosy barbs are arguably the most popular barb species, and no wonder! Hardy and beautiful, they top out at about six inches and can tolerate lower temperatures than many other tropical fish. Males display brighter coloration than females, but both will develop black marking on their fins and sides with maturity. Like all barbs, they have a tendency to exhibit fin nipping behavior when not kept in groups; keeping them in shoals of at least five will help mitigate this behavior.
