Hello folks! Happy June!! This offering is for the 6 Inch Long L-029 Leporacanthicus galaxias you can see below! These fish are also often called Vampire Plecos and Galaxy Plecos. This is another BIG beefy Pleco! This fish is in flawless condition and perfect in every way. I do not know what sex this fish is but I have noticed it has almost no odontodes on it's gill operculums or pectoral fins to speak of. This catfish eats with gusto and is not afraid to come out and grab it's share of the food when it is on the bottom of the tank. I have kept this species several times and I consider them to be meat eaters. They will aggressively eat Frozen Brine Shrimp/Bloodworms and the rest of the meaty type frozen foods and they will consume stuff like Hikari algae wafers (those are mostly fish meal by the way) but I have never seen one actually clean algae off a rock or piece of driftwood and they completely ignore canned green beans too. Most of the information I have read states they top out at between about 8 inches to 10 inches. One other interesting thing you outta know about them is, unlike most Hypancistrus, these Plecos do absolutely fine at the more traditional temperatures most of us like to keep our tanks at. 78 degrees is perfect for Vampire Plecos. Try this fish out folks! It flashy enough to become your favorite catfish and it's already more than half way to mature adult size! In fact you outta try to collect 5 or 6 of them so sometime down the road you can try breeding them!
