Description

This auction is for a 2"x2" bag of suspension growing algae spores.

Copepods that are fed will breed up in population, becoming thousands and thousands of copepods.

Freshwater copepods:

Yes, this greenwater is alive. With a little bit of light and nutrients the green water will continue.

Shipping is free to the continental United States.
For global international shipping, please add $3.

Instructions:
Add tiny pinches of this green powder to water little by little to turn it opaquely green. The green powder is alive and will stay suspended in the water column long term if you give it a bit of current, not sinking to the bottom. I suggest an air stone or a waterfall filter. Extra powder is shelf stable if stored dry in the dark.

Permanent Culture:
You can grow this greenwater using any standard greenwater culture techniques. For example, you can put an air stone in a clear vase or plastic 2 Liter and set it on a windowsill. Add fish flakes twice a week. This greenwater is alive, and will continue for months, years, as long as you choose to keep it running. Note: It's easier to come back to active-life (instead of being dormant in a spore) if rehydrated to freshwater. I've grown it long term in both fresh and full marine salinity saltwater, but if you want to grow it in salt I've had some customers say it rehydrates better in fresh first. Harvesting: Scoop some of your living algae culture into your copepod culture. Top off the algae culture with dechlorinated water.

The powder is shelf stable and can be stored dry in the dark for 10+ years. Not for human consumption.
