Description

This is a cycled 2 liter culture that will thrive for over one year if given light. You pick out some of the daphnia to start your primary culture, and save the mini-culture for future uses. This gives you additional opportunities, in case you fail to start your primary or have a crash, to establish your primary.

I add the correct nutrients and cycle for a couple weeks. It sustains a colony of 30 to 100 daphnia for well over one year - just add light. The light adds energy for algae & bacteria to grow - sustaining a small colony of daphnia.


AUCTION
Available cultures are moina, pulex, or magna. There are two versions, one using florescent, and the other natural light. You select whichever daphnia species you want, and which light option.

The culture will free of other organisms. The daphnia were isolated from other organisms and started with sterile ingredients.

The cultures using natural light used daphnia taken from my outdoor cultures, and can be used to start both indoor & outdoor cultures. The light is from an east facing window that receives highly muted/filtered sunlight.
