Description

Lava rock is a light weight, porous volcanic rock that has multiple uses when it comes to the home aquarium. Lava rock has a ton of surface area that allow the growth of beneficial bacteria which, in turn, aids in the water quality and health of your fish. You can also use lava rock as a filtering source when used in filter housings. In addition to theses added benefits, lava rock also serves as a food oasis for shrimp and other small organism eating species. Aside from the overall benefits of lave rock it is also an attractive addition to many tanks. Buyer will receive 8 oz of lava rock. Sizes of individual rocks will vary from 1"-2". The number of rocks in the bag will also vary based on the weight of individual rocks. A good rule of thumb is to expect 9-12 rocks per bag. As with all aquarium decor it is advised to thoroughly rinse lava rock well before adding to your tank. I ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays only.
