This sale includes 1/2 lb of Indian Almond leaf litter A.K.A Terminalia Catappa. The leaf litter will consist of pieces of leaves, leaves with holes and or tares. The pieces still contain all of the benefits, maybe not the aesthetics. Indian Almond leaves have many benefits for use in the aquarium such as boosting immune system, preventing disease, lessen stress, antibacterial, anti fungal properties, create black water conditions for breeding and spawning, just to name a few. The leaves also create a growing area for Biofilm which in my opinion is the preferred food of choice for freshwater shrimp. The leaves will also lower PH naturally. I recommend soaking the leaves in hot water for a day and then soaking them in a container of tank water for an additional day or so. I use this method because the first soak in hot water releases alot of the tannins if you do not want your tank water to get to dark. The second soak preps the leaves for your tank, at this point the leaves are water logged and seeded to grow bio film. I have found this method to work really well. I also really like how natural they look in the tank. $5.00 Priority Shipping.
