What you see is what you get, you are bidding on the actual Microsorum sp. Mini Trident in this photograph. The lot includes a few mature rhizomes and a few babies plucked from the tips of old leaves. mini Trident is what Im calling this variety; to be honest, not quite sure what the trade name is on this fine fern. I picked it up at a local fish store a few years back as trident but this fern displays much more forking per leaf than trident and is much more delicate in appearance and smaller in stature staying around 4-6. Mature leaves gently curve toward the tip away from the main cluster forming a nice clump with a rounded canopy. Striking as a large clump, also quite cool as smaller accent fern in when tied to branches and regularly pruned. Also characteristic of this rare fern are the small orange-brown sporangia running the length of each leaf and leaflet - usually only seen on terrestrial ferns. Have not really seen this variety anywhere else personally. Grows well in a wide variety of conditions, does fine in my unheated tank and just as well in another tank 82F. Does well in low light, explodes with super vigorous under high light and co2 supplementation. Super hardy, very adaptable, a low maintenance beautiful addition to any tank. Tie to rock or wood, do not bury the rhizome. As usual its a good size, beautiful fern and a rare score for the price. Shipping single plants is $10 via small flat rate usps box. Multiple purchases/combined shipping is a flat rate 14$ so we encourage you to get a few plants to make the shipping worthwhile. plants individually wrapped in moist paper and sealed in plastic bags for freshness and humidity, packages insulated to protect from temp swings in shipping. We aim to please!
