Description

Auction is for 5 Vallisneria americana var. Red Tiger Stripe. These are young plants but about 8 inches tall. Their leaves will be more of a golden color with the red tiger stripes. as the leaves mature they will become a darker green and the stripes will become a darker red like in the pic below.

American Val is an easy Plant to grow. Place the roots and only the roots under the substrate. pull up on the leaves if you need to to make sure the base of the leaves are not under the substrate. give it light and wow what a statement they will make. American val has medium wide leaves and can grow quite long if given enough space and light. It will almost always grow to the water surface before it quits. Vals reproduce readily by sending runners and making new daughter plants to the sides. I had a tank bust which was where I grow these out.. I need to move the youngsters as My full size mature mothers are moved but not much room left.
