Description

Cryptocoryne retrospiralis is a slightly different looking Cryptocoryne. It has a brownish leaf sometimes going a darker chocolate brown. It's leaves are thin and slightly crinkled along the edges. Despite it's slightly different looks this is a typical Cryptocoryne. It does well in low light but will do equally well in high light as long as it is protected from major algae growth. Cryptocorynes all like moderately rich substrate and acidic substrate can be an advantage though not necessary. Also, like all cryptocorynes, C retrospiralis is occasionally prone to Crypt melt. this is not the end of the world. if your plant does melt just leave it be- DO NOT uproot it! It will almost always come back with a vengeance in fairly short order. this is just something that Many Crypts do so be patient if it does melt.
