This listing is for the amount of red root floaters (Phyllanthus fluitans) that fits in two 3.25 oz containers. I can combine shipping with any other auctions from my listings as long as you let me know before I send an invoice. Read my JustMe page if you want to know my current water parameters and fertilization concentrations. These are grown indoors in my aquarium, and there will be no pest snails nor duckweed in the order. There may be microfauna hitchhikers, including ostracods, daphnia, cyclops, and detritus worms.
Care
Red root floaters prefer higher lighting to flourish and flower, liquid fertilizer, and will not tolerate being submerged long term, nor having water droplets constantly on the leaves. Red root floaters grown in lower light and fertilization concentrations tend to cause shorter roots, exponentially slower growth, leaves half their normal size, and typically more lime green leaves in my experience. In order to get them red, you will need high light with strong reds, decent levels of phosphate and potassium, and nitrate limitation (< 1 ppm).
If you have issues with surface scum, I recommend getting a surface skimmer and finding a way to corral these plants away from it, as these kinds of plants will both impede the flow of surface scum from being filtered into the skimmer and block important gas exchange between the surface water and air.Shipping/Payment
Base shipping cost is $10 for USPS priority (recommended for temperatures between 45 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit).
Styrofoam insulation will be an additional $2 to the base cost ($12 total shipping, recommended for temperatures above freezing and below 90 degrees Fahrenheit).
A 72 hour heat pack + Styrofoam insulation will be an additional $7 to the base cost ($17 total shipping, highly recommended for temperatures below freezing point.)
Shipping can be combined with other auctions from my listings. Continental US only.
I will send an email to confirm: 1) if your contact email address is tied to your Paypal account, 2) if your mailing address is correct, and 3) your order total, then I'll send an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, I will begin preparing the order as soon as I can. Please ensure your shipping information is correct, and make sure this plant is not banned in your state!
I will only ship Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid weekend delay. Shipping charges are NOT refundable.Live Arrival Guarantee
If all your plants arrive DOA within the stated temperatures above, send photos same day of receiving the package showing that the plants are dead within the unopened container, and I will refund the amount for the plants. I am not responsible for any plant loss that occurs once it's in your care. Please note there may be some die back in some plants that need to acclimate due to shipping stress and different water parameters.
Notes
I can't guarantee live arrival outside the stated temperatures above. Regardless of whether you order within the stated temperatures or not, it is best to bring the package indoors as soon as it's delivered to avoid freezing/melting.
If the plants are alive, but the temperature is too different from your aquarium's (e.g. plants were left in 45 degree temperatures outside, and your aquarium is 75 degrees), it is best to leave the plants in their containers/bags for at least half an hour, or at least until the plants feel like room temperature. This way the plants can slowly temperature acclimate as opposed to being shocked from a large immediate temperature difference.
Plants are pruned and packed on the same day they're shipped.
Once in your possession, please keep all unwanted plant cuttings (including stems, rhizomes, or any plant part that can continue growing) out of natural/manmade water sources and dispose of it properly. If you have any questions regarding this or other auctions of mine, feel free to email me.
