Description

Everglades pygmy sunfish are a tiny native nano fish found in Florida and select areas of the south eastern united states. Males develop speckles and turn dark with some blue highlights during mating. Females also stay tiny and have speckled patches and are generally lighter in color. They are micro predators, thriving in planted tanks. They can withstand cooler temperatures and can be kept without a heater at room temperature. Excellent nano fish. Fish will be unsexed and approximately .75"-1" in size. Everglades Pygmy Sunfish Scientific Name: Elassoma evergladei Diet: Omnivore (prefer live foods such as brine shrimp or grindal worms. Frozen foods work also and can sometimes take prepared foods) Difficulty: Moderate Min Tank Size (in gallons): 5g pH Range: 6.5-8.0 Temperature Range: 65-85 Max Size (in inches): 1-1.5" Shipping is done through USPS Priority Mail and is $20. Shipping is done on Mondays after 1-2 day processing time (The livestock is fasted so the shipping water doesn't spoil). Holidays and/or bad weather may delay orders. Day/Night temperatures on entire route must be between 35�F and 95�F. You are responsible for ensuring the livestock is legal where you live. Live Arrival / DOA Guarantee We guarantee that as long as your livestock are delivered by the time that carrier specified they will arrive alive and healthy. The vast majority of the time this is the case however DOA's do happen occasionally. If the untimely event of an entire order being DOA please send 2 clear pictures showing the fish within the sealed bag within 2 hours of the first delivery attempt. Once you open the bag, the live arrival guarantee is void. We will either replace the order or refund the order cost minus the cost of shipping.
