Description

This auction is for a group of 3 juveniles gender unknown 1-4 inches. These fish are wild caught in April 2018. They are eating a variety of foods both live and commercial. Live daphnia, mosquito larvae, small red wigglers, Wardley shrimp pellets, tropical flakes, tropical chips, bug bites, cichlids pellets, and Betta pellets. I keep many types of fish, so the diet of all of them is well varied. I am sure they have also eaten most of the snails in the tank. For those who do t know anything about sunfish... They are much like cichlids in their attitude, and feeding habits, and will thrive o. The same diet as most omnivorous fish with a flair for meat. The Longear sunfish is a full sized sunfish meaning it can grow to be 12 inches. Dinner plate size. This fish will need a big tank. Water parameters... This fish is native to the Texas hill country where the water is naturally hard and alkaline due to the natural limestone the water flows over and through in our rivers and streams. They are sensitive to water quality. Keep your water change schedule with these guys. Aquascaping for the longear sunfish... This fish likes a Sandy or fine gravel substrate with bigger rocks forming caves, and dense vegetation (can be fake or yarn mops sinking or floating or both) . Shade cover is recommended if you want to see this fish out in the open, it doesn't like bright lights. Duckweed can provide this cover easily. I have not yet bred this type of fish so I cannot tell you what gender you are getting though I will do the best I can using the knowledge I have to get you a male and female in your order. I will package my biggest ones first so first come first serve on the bigger ones. Shipping is 19.00 for priority mail, in case if doa, I can replace fish (new shipping split between buyer and seller) or refund fish price only. Shipping fees I cannot refund. Heat/cold packs provided no additional charge.
