Description

Pseudomugil cyanodorsalis or Blue-backed Blue Eye is a fantastic small rainbowfish native to Western Australia where they typically inhabit mangrove estuaries as well as full marine environments. I�ve been told that they will live in fresh water as well, but I�ve never tried it. I keep mine in slightly brackish water with 1 tbsp. aquarium salt/gallon water, but have found that they are not terribly particular about salinity so long as there is some salt is in the water. They are easy to keep and feed and are frequent spawners. I have a group of about 10 in a 10 gal. aquarium, and I typically scoop out some fry almost every day. They spawn in mops or plants. Eggs are easily collected and fairly large considering the size of the fish. Eggs will hatch in about 2 weeks. Young can be fed microworms and newly hatched brine shrimp right away. Adults reach about 1.5 inches in length. Males display gorgeous neon blue and yellow . In this auction you will receive 3 pair of young fish at .5-.75 inches in length.
