Description

This listing is for 6+ 2 extra unsexed Girardinus metallicus fry that are over a month old and are about 3/8�-1/2� long. These are young fish and may not have their adult colors yet.

Girardinus metallicus are also called Metallic Livebearer or the Black Chinned Livebearers because the males have a black patch that runs along the bottom of their body. In the right light these fish appear golden or even have a chrome-like appearance. The females grow to be larger (about female guppy in size) and are more muted in appearance. The males get to be about 1 �� long.

This fish is found in Cuba and Costa Rica in streams and ponds which may be either freshwater or brackish. In the wild, Girardinus metallicus are omnivorous. In the aquarium, they readily accept live or flake food.

Girardinus metallicus is easy to keep in a five to ten gallon tank. Furnish the tank with a few plants (check out my other listings for live plants). Males can be aggressive in their pursuit of females, so providing a few hiding spots for the females and babies is a good idea.

This fish is as easy to breed as guppies and given the correct conditions, you should have no problem once they mature. I am selling these fish unsexed, there is a 98% chance that you will receive at least one pair. These fish are compatible with most small non-aggressive tropical fish. While they are similar to guppies, these fish will not cross breed with them

Dependent on the weather, I will pack these fish in a styrofoam lined box with a 72 hour heat pack. I will provide a tracking number through your My Ebay page. I only ship to the continental US. It is the buyer�s responsibility to be home when the fish arrive. In the unlikely case that more than 3 of the fish are dead on arrival, I will reship one time upon receipt within 3 hours of the first delivery attempt by USPS of a picture showing the dead fish. Overnight shipping is available for an additional $30.
